Students have one music session per week. The focus is to develop music skills and understandings through listening, singing, moving, performing, discussing and creating.
Year 1 and 2 students learn the musical scale on the marimbas, metalaphones and glockenspiel. Year 3 and 4 students participate in recorder lessons. Year 5 and 6 students use a variety of instruments and particularly enjoy learning to play the ukulele.
Highlights of the program include a full school musical production every 2 to 3 years with every child having the opportunity to perform on stage. Students also participate in a dance program and a school concert in other years.
